About myself

My artist name is Proinsias Donlon, a Donlon because of my late mother in law who was a Donlon, a Galway Girl.
My wife is a Galway Girl as well.

I started writing down thoughts and short stories when I was about 50 years young. Surely I’ve written a lot of text for work but not about life in all it’s variations. Now I’m retired with more time on my hand, to think and bring my thoughts to paper. Without any claim for brilliant wording or high level literature.

I’m grateful to be able to read and write.

I love a printed book, the weight, to turn pages, using bookmarks, to enjoy cover illustrations, to have culture in my hands. I prefer paperback because the contents of a book is important to me, not the layout.

So far, I’m living in Tuam, Co. Galway, Ireland.
